People around the world are feeling the impact of Sunday's deadly mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando. At least 49 people were killed and more than 50 wounded in what is now called the deadliest attack on U-S soil since 9/11. Police later shot and killed the gunman, who praised ISIS when he called 911 from inside the club. The Imam of the Anniston Islamic Center has issued a statement on behalf of the Muslim community of Anniston expressing shock, sorrow and condemnation. The statement says, "…Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the families of the deceased and the injured. Especially during this month of Ramadan… As proud Americans, we reiterate our commitment to peace, safety and security of our nation, as well as our solidarity with fellow Americans.
