An old abandoned house gives the Anniston Fire Department the opportunity for fire training during the Summer heat. Assistant Chief Chris Collins says the basic firefighting they are doing today is a simulation fire in a structure. He says it teaches them about mitigating fire in different structural scenarios. Collins says the fire department has had the house for six weeks and in two to three weeks they will begin live fire training. He says they will set fires to the separate rooms and try to get as many evolutions out of the exercise as possible.
