Thursday, June 16, 2016

Oxford is adding some big names to its football coaching staff. Head coach Ryan Herring confirmed to TV24 Sports that Scott Peavey will join the team as an assistant coach.

Peavey resigned as Madison County’s head coach where he served from 2009 - 2015. Peavey is the winningest coach in program history with 46 victories in his seven seasons. He also led the Tigers to the playoffs four times, which is the longest stretch in school history.

Peavey's teams made the semifinals in 2014 and won a program-high 12 games in 2012. He has also previously served as head coach at Ashville High School and Walter Wellborn High School. Peavey becomes the second former head coach to join the staff along with Lee Ozmint who had a successful run at Glencoe.
