Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people are arrested for drug related charges in Etowah County. William Pruitt of Gadsden, and Carrie Mitchell of Rainbow City, are charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempt to elude. Investigators say a Sardis Police Officer attempted to stop a white Jaguar for speeding on Hwy 431 South. The driver, Pruitt, refused to stop and a chase ensued. Pruitt and Mitchell exited the vehicle and took off running into the woods. Shortly afterwards, Pruitt was taken into custody in the woods and Boaz Police Officers apprehended Mitchell at a house on Rockledge Road. Pruitt and Mitchell were arrested and transported to the Etowah County Detention Center. Both remain in jail under a $4000 bond each.
