Gospel Group Sings for Local Prisoners

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

A group of gospel singing women make their second trip to the Calhoun County jail to sing for female inmates. The Steel Magnolias are from San Antonio and Austin, Texas and have sung all over the United States. They are currently traveling to share the message of Jesus Christ in malls, town squares, restaurants, and wherever the Spirit moves them. Director Debbie Daniel says they have been doing this for 10 years and this is their first Summer trip. She says they are spreading seeds for Jesus because all people have needs. She’s hoping that their joy can inspire the inmates to find roads to get out of the jail system and live productive lives. The Steel Magnolia’s next stop will be New Orleans, Louisiana.
