Piedmont Tables Record System Upgrades

The Piedmont City Council tabled a decision to upgrade the Police Department’s records system. The system offered by Digital Technologies of Weaver, which is already used by nine law enforcement agencies, was originally developed for the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Council Member Frank Cobb said that the city may be able to use a system offered by Calhoun County 911 at a lower cost. Cobb then requested that the matter be tabled until the council could compare costs. The vote was tabled until the August 16th meeting.
