A regional law enforcement training academy graduates more than 100 officers-to-be. The Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy graduated cadets that successfully completed the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training requirements. The law enforcement training consisted of 13 weeks of classroom and field work designed to qualify the newly employed law enforcement officer in the basics of law enforcement. FBI Birmingham Division Special Agent in Charge Roger Stanton was the commencement speaker. The academy is located on the satellite campus of Jacksonville State University located at 100 Gamecock Drive in Anniston. The Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy was established in 1972. It offers three basic training courses a year. The cost of the academy is $1,400.
