The 2016 Black Creek 4-H Archery Invitational Tournament got underway at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden today. It’s the first time the park has hosted this event, which brings in young archers from around north and central Alabama. Those archers will be competing in several different events at the park’s practice fields. One of the youth taking part is 15-year-old Dalton Maddox, who serves as the 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador for Alabama. This unique competition has some spectator friendly events, such as the 3-D target competition set for tomorrow morning at 8:30. Spectators are encouraged to bring binoculars or spotting scopes as archers will be taking aim at targets up to 50 yards away.
