For more than 58 years, children and adults have been experiencing miracles through the programs and services provided by East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy. The agency is dedicated to serving more than 950 children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. The association, which serves Calhoun, Cleburne, Randolph, Talladega, and Clay Counties is gearing up for its annual UCP Telethon this weekend. Executive Director Linda Johns says the telethon brings in 20% of the total operating budget. Johns adds people struggling with disabilities and their families need support, in order to have the opportunity to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. She says $0.94 of every dollar raised goes directly to local programs and services. She says the money stays in the community. The year’s annual UCP Telethon theme is Believe in Tomorrow. The telethon will take place at the Anniston Meeting Center on Saturday and Sunday. You can watch it on WEAC TV24. If you’d like to give… You can give online at ecaucp.org.
