JSU Football Media Day

The Jacksonville State football team begins fall camp on Thursday. The Gamecocks are coming off a 13-2 season where they finished as the national runner-up and look to make a return trip to Frisco to cap off this season. On Wednesday, the Gamecocks welcomed the media to Jacksonville. The players and head coach John Grass talked about the work in the offseason and their expectations for 2016.

The Gamecocks lost 30 seniors from last year's squad, but return a bevy of talent on both sides of the ball. It’s clear their loss in the title game has fueled the excitement heading into fall camp.

Anniston’s Troymaine Pope is gone, but the running game looks to be in good hands with Roc Thomas. Former Oxford High School star transferred in from Auburn this offseason. Roc had some strong moments down on the Plains that he will use to move his college career forward. He spoke publicly for the first time today about his decision.

The Gamecocks begin fall camp tomorrow and open the season September 1st against North Alabama.
