Overturn for Suspension of Roy Moore Dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed an effort by Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore to overturn his suspension. A US District Judge threw out Moore's lawsuit against the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission in an order today. The Alabama Court of the Judiciary is considering judicial ethics charges that could lead to Moore's ouster, the judge writes that the state process should continue without federal court interference. Moore sued the Commission in May saying it violated his rights by suspending him when it filed the ethics charges. Moore asked the federal judge to let him resume work as chief justice. The commission accused Moore of violating judicial ethics with an order to state probate judges about the dispute over gay marriage.
