Heflin Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Heflin police arrest a man who now faces multiple drug-related charges. The arrest took place in Heflin on Saturday. Paul Cohen was stopped by police at the 202 mile marker on Interstate 20 for a routine traffic stop. According to Heflin Police he was stopped for multiple offenses. Upon making contact with Cohen, who was driving the car, a strong odor of raw marijuana was emitting from the automobile. After doing a Probable Cause Search, Officers located a bag of Marijuana. A further search uncovered Cocaine located in luggage in the trunk. Cohen was taken to jail. After arriving at the jail, another bag of Marijuana was found on him. Cohen was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Promoting Prison Contraband.
