Deputy Arrested for Drugs & Prison Contraband
An Etowah County detention deputy is accused of selling illegal drugs to inmates. Erick Bullock of Hokes Bluff was arrested Monday and is charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, one count of first degree promoting prison contraband and one count of second degree promoting prison contraband. Investigators say, he also faces one count of salvia possession and one count of third degree promoting prison contraband, both are misdemeanors. According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, an internal investigation, found Bullock with Suboxone, methamphetamines, salvia, a cell phone and tobacco products in his personal bag inside the unit where he was working. Authorities say, he is accused of selling the items to inmates. Bullock has been relieved of his duties as an employee with the Sheriff’s Office. He is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $9,500 property bond.
