Lottery Bill May Not Make it to a Vote

Friday, August 19, 2016

If Alabamians get to vote on a constitutional amendment to allow a lottery and expanded gaming in Alabama, it likely won’t be happening November 8TH. The Alabama Senate voted against a procedure that would have allowed a vote on a proposed lottery bill. Senators voted 20 to 11 to reject a motion to stop the debate on the lottery. Senator Jim McClendon says that on Friday he will be back to push for passage of a bill that Governor Robert Bentley has proposed.
