Obesity and the Brain

Need another reason to watch your diet and hit the gym? How about a link between obesity and brain degeneration? A recently published University of Cambridge study took a look at the brains of hundreds of people between the ages of 20 and 87. Scientists found overweight or obese middle-age subjects had brains that resembled those of someone ten years older. Specifically, they had much less white matter than their leaner peers. White matter links regions of the brain together. Researches says it’s too early to tell what this means – But want more studies done.
