Louisiana Flood Relief Drive

Organizations in Calhoun County are coordinating a joint disaster relief drive for flood survivors in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. The Louisiana Flood Relief Drive will take place this Saturday through Wednesday. Calhoun County Commissioner Tim Hodges says the Louisiana Flood Relief drive is about helping a community hit by a catastrophic event. He says it is just the natural thing to do. Hodges adds that Calhoun County has always had a giving heart and is familiar with being on the receiving end of a catastrophe. Drive organizers are asking that you donate cleanup supplies, school supplies, household goods, and construction supplies – including new hand tools. They are requesting that you do not donate used or second-hand clothes. Hodges says he wants to encourage everyone to bring supplies or volunteer. He says organizers are open to any assistance. The drop off locations are the Anniston Fire Department Station Number 1 on East 17TH Street from 8AM until 8PM, Pate’s Painting on Quintard Avenue, the Oxford Fire Department Station Number 1 on East 6TH Street from 9AM until 8PM, Jacksonville State University Bibb Graves Hall at Room Number 113 which will only be receiving school supplies and the Theron Montgomery Building Room Number 402 which will receive all other donations from 8AM until 4:30PM up to September 9TH. You can also drop off donations at the JSU Police Department at Salls Hall anytime until August 24TH.
