Six Year Old Starts Clean-up Project

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

A six-year-old’s vision for a cleaner Jacksonville Mountain comes to fruition over the weekend. Chimney Peak Clean-up Day coordinator Mitch Conroy says he had never seen a dirtier mountain and decided to do something about it. He says he saw pizza boxes, bottles, and all sorts of trash. But, he couldn’t tackle the dirty mess all by himself. So, according to Jacksonville State University Student Alumni Association Ambassador Michelle Megill he decided to get a big person’s help. Conroy gave certificates to all the participants and suggests that the mountain area should have trash cans. He says, "Don’t litter up here." And plans to clean up the area every season. The clean-up team collected 15 bags of trash.
