Voting Glitch in Jacksonville

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

According to a What’s Happening in Jacksonville, Alabama Facebook post some registered voters in the Jacksonville area that were annexed last year were not automatically pulled into the database for today’s city election. The first people to encounter this problem were asked to cast a provisional ballot. The Board of Registrars worked on the problem and fixed it. The result was that any other affected people were able to cast their ballots once their address was verified. Every legally cast ballot will be counted. Election results will be certified on August 30-TH. The Jacksonville City Council will meet at noon on August 30-TH to canvass the vote and certify the official election results.
