Drought in More Than Half the State

Drought conditions in more than half the state of Alabama are improving. According to the US Drought Monitor nearly 51% of the state is seeing normal conditions. That's the highest percentage since May 31. That means, more than half of Alabama is experiencing no drought nor abnormally dry conditions. The amount of land affected by drought dropped in every monitored category. It fell to less than 2%; mostly affecting three north Alabama counties.
