Shooting Still Under Investigation

The investigation into a shooting incident in DeKalb County continues… According to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, the shooting incident took place on County Road 386 in the Aroney community about 8:30 last Friday. The victim, who was shot in the lower leg, was identified as James Burns of Boaz. The shooter was Max Pope, also from Boaz. He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with 1st Degree Assault. Sheriff Harris says additional charges are pending. Pope remains in the DeKalb County Detention Center with bond yet to be set.
