Albertville Woman Charged with Chemical Endangerment

An Albertville woman is in jail on charges she took drugs while pregnant. An Alabama State Trooper conducted a routine stop on a car driven by Diana Cortez. She had felony warrants from Marshall County. Cortez was arrested and was found to have more than 3 ounces of Methamphetamine in her possession. Cortez was taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in an Illegal Drug, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was later found to be pregnant and charged with Chemical endangerment as well.
