Homeland Security Grant for Fire Department

One East Alabama fire department receives funding to help its recruitment activities. The men and women of the Jacksonville Fire Department received a more than $300,000 grant from the US Department of Homeland Security. Jacksonville Fire Chief Wade Buckner says the grant will be very beneficial. According to the Homeland Security Department the grant is to assure local communities have adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards. The grant will be awarded under the 2015 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response.
