Teens Arrested After Gadsden Mall Fight

Thursday, September 8, 2016

A seventeen-year-old, two fourteen-year-olds, and a thirteen-year-old are charged with disorderly conduct after a fight at the Gadsden Mall. Gadsden Police Captain Bobby Jackson says one teenager threw a punch at a Gadsden police officer and was later charged with assaulting the officer. The incident took place on Saturday. Police believe the fight began when someone called a 14-year-old girl a name and her 17-year-old sister defended her. Authorities says dozens of people watched. And, contrary to social media accounts, the crowd did not chant or jeer police.
