It is fall semester for Jacksonville State University students. And, the Houston Cole Library thought it a good idea for its student body to get acquainted with library services. The library held its first Club Cocky Tailgate Open House. Attendees competed for door prizes, as well as a chance to party with the JSU football team, cheerleaders, band, Ballerinas, and Cocky. Dean of Library Services John-Bauer Graham says usually the library is a place of anxiety and intimidation for students. But, he says today’s activities remind people that the library is a welcoming information hub and the center of the university. The Houston Cole Library is 13 stories, has 800,000 books and subscribes to 100,000 journals. It is open to the public. You do not have to be affiliated with JSU to use its services.
