Pipeline to Expected to Restart Wednesday

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

A main gasoline pipeline is expected to restart Wednesday with a temporary bypass after a leak and spill in Shelby County led to surging fuel prices and some gas shortages across the South. According to a Colonial Pipeline spokesman, the roughly 500-foot section of pipe that will serve as the bypass is now complete. The bypass was installed to move fuel around the leaking area of the pipeline that has so far leaked more than 250,000 gallons of gasoline.
