Chief Justice Suspended
Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is suspended from his official duties. The Alabama Court of the Judiciary ruled this morning that Moore will be suspended without pay for the remainder of his elected term. The court found the Chief Justice guilty of ordering probate judges to deny marriage licenses to gay couples after the U.S. Supreme Court made gay marriage legal in all 50 states. Moore calls the ethics charges ‘ridiculous’ and is planning an appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court.
