Throughout the country, law enforcement personnel are under attack - with every move they make second-guessed by politicians, community leaders and even the people they are sworn to protect. Here in East Alabama, the mood is different. Residents of the City of Glencoe turned out tonight for a community gathering at Glencoe First Baptist Church to honor local law enforcement officers and to thank them for the job they do. Glencoe resident Wade Acton spearheaded the event, and with the help of Glencoe city officials, honored police officers and sheriff's deputies with a hot dog supper and meet-n-greet event. Members of law enforcement say that the community support feels good and that it is nice to know that the community understands the difficult jobs they do and the sacrifices they - and their families - make on a daily basis.
