A group of Anniston volunteers knit and crochet more than 100 hats to be donated to St. Vincent’s Hospital for newborns for their National Wear Red Day in February. National Wear Red Day raises awareness for heart disease and the hospital has been bringing awareness and knitting for newborns for a while. But, this is the first time a volunteer group from our area has made and donated the hats to the hospital’s Babies Go Red campaign. The knitters met for a final time yesterday to finish making the hats. The meeting took place at Mountain View Church of Calhoun County.
