Accident Kills Construction Worker

A vehicle strikes a message board and then hits two construction workers injuring one and killing the other. 44-year-old Joshua Goodwyn of Hanceville was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.  He was an employee of Good Hope Construction. The accident took place in a construction zone on Interstate 59 near Attalla. According to Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel the driver of the vehicle struck the message board in the right lane of the interstate’s northbound lanes. The workers were about to move the sign when the accident happened. The injured 23-year old worker was airlifted to UAB Hospital. The driver was taken to Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden. The accident is under investigation.
