High Football School Awards: Week Six

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Each Tuesday night in the season we hand out our High School football awards from the previous week’s performances. Week six winners:

The Foothills Tractor Player of the Week goes to Munford running back Tacorrie Russell. The junior had 176 yards rushing and three touchdowns Friday night as the Lions beat Elmore County 53-28. As our Player of the Week, Russell will get a dinner for two at Local Joe’s Restaurant. Munford has won five consecutive games after dropping the season opener. They will look to extend it to six this Fridaynight at Handley.

Our KFC Team of the Week is Oxford. The Yellow Jackets remain perfect on the season after a gritty 24-21 win on the road at Southside Friday night. The victory means that the chicken, t-shirts and trophy will head out to the Jacket team and coaching staff this Thursday. Oxford is now 7-0 on the season and one step closer to a region championship. They will host 0-6 Fort Payne this in week six.
