Suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is appealing his judicial ethics conviction. Moore’s attorneys filed a notice of appeal with the Alabama Supreme Court Monday. Last week, the Alabama Court of the Judiciary convicted Moore on charges of violating judicial ethics. The court found that Moore overstepped his authority with an order he issued last year concerning same-sex marriage. The court suspended the chief justice for the remainder of his six-year term with its decision last week. Moore’s eight remaining colleagues on the Supreme Court will consider his prosecution and conviction.
