Red Flag Campaign at JSU

One local university is drawing attention to a common problem that many people avoid talking about. October is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Jacksonville State University is using the time to bring attention to the problem through its Red Flag Campaign. Executive Director of Second Chance, Susan Shipman says if people don't say anything.... nothing will ever change. One in three college students experiences sexual violence. The campaign encourages friends and other community members to say something when they see warning signs or red flags for sexual assault, dating violence or stalking in a friend’s relationship. The Campaign is a project of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance and was created by college students, college personnel and community victim advocates.
