Exceptional Drought in Local Counties

Drought conditions in Alabama have definitely gotten worse over the past few weeks. The U.S. Drought Monitor weekly update states that the entire state of Alabama is suffering from the lack of rain. This is the first time in 5 years that the whole state has been classified as being under drought conditions. Cherokee, Calhoun and Cleburne counties are all considered to be in an exceptional drought.
