Driver Charged with 3 Counts of Murder
The man accused of causing a wreck that killed three women last month is out of the hospital and in jail. Jordan Baker is charged with murder. Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade confirms Baker was booked into the jail after spending 23 days in a Birmingham hospital for injuries he received in the wreck. Investigators say Baker refused to pull over for a deputy who saw him run a red light on September 27. Baker later hit a car on Old Gadsden Highway near Alexandria Road while trying to get away from authorities. The crash killed Joy Howell, Melanie Hurst and Melanie Trantham. Investigators say the truck Baker was driving had been reported stolen.
