A week after not getting into the endzone the JSU offense came alive once again on homecoming. The unit went 6 for 6 in the red zone as the Gamecocks dominated Eastern Illinois 47-14. It wasn’t just the offense making noise. The defense is now the No. 1 unit in the nation giving up less than 260 yards per game and holding opponents to just 23% success rate on third down.
Sophomore kicker Cade Stinnett was named the OVC Specialist of the Week and freshman safety Marlon Bridges won the Newcomer of the Week. Up next the Gamecocks are back on the road for another league contest against Southeast Missouri on Saturday at 1:00pm.
