Depot Honors Veterans

Friday, November 4, 2016

The Anniston Army Depot is honoring all the men and women who've served our country over the decades. Alabama is currently home to more than 300-thousand veterans. This annual ceremony recognizes veterans both past and present. All around the gym, where the celebration took place, were pictures of men and women who served all the way back to World War I. Army Veteran, Hector Lopez enlisted when he was 28 years old, and says he would enlist again if he could. Lopez has a son who serves in the Army and is a student at Jacksonville State University. Retired Navy Chief, Cheryl Swain says she was inspired by recruiters to enlist when she was only 17. Veterans Day isn’t until November 11th, but the Anniston Army Depot celebrates the day early so the Veterans who work at the depot can have the day off.
