The impeachment proceedings against Alabama Governor Robert Bentley are on hold. House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Mike Jones shared his decision today to suspend hearings into the Articles of Impeachment filed against Governor Bentley. Jones says the request came from Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange whose office is conducting its own investigation centered on Bentley. The decision comes just days before the judiciary committee was to announce a date to begin taking testimony. Jones stressed that even though the impeachment is on hold, everything the committee has done remains in effect. The Attorney General’s office has not released details about its investigation into Bentley.
