Another drastic action to try and protect against possible wildfires during this extreme drought. Governor Robert Bentley signed an updated Declaration of Emergency Drought Condition, issued by the Alabama Forestry Commission. It prohibits outdoor burning in all 67 counties in the state. The original declaration was signed by the governor on October 12th. Oneonta, in Blount County has gone more than 2 months without a drop of rain, Gadsden has gone more than 30 days without rain.
