An organization that helps those in need gets some much deserved recognition. The Arc of Calhoun County has been helping those with developmental disabilities since 1954. The non-profit organization gave a tour today to Alabama's Mental Health Commissioner, Jim Perdue. He says people with disabilities can be a great asset to the community and businesses, if given the chance. The Arc provides supportive programs to adults with disabilities and advocacy for special education from birth to 26 years old. Perdue also says every donation of time or money is much appreciated. If you would like to get involved you can visit The Arc’s website or give them a call.
