Wildfire Off Owls Hollow Road Near Gadsden

Another wildfire is keeping the forestry commission busy and this one is a little closer to home. An estimated 40 acres were affected by a fire off Owls Hollow Road in Gadsden. Firefighters got the call around 12:30 this morning. What firefighters didn’t expect was for the fire to jump the break created by a forestry commission crew, more firefighters were called to the scene. Gadsden Fire Chief Steven Carroll expected the break to protect the people of Gadsden nearest the fire, no evacuations are expected. Smoke is still covering the sky around the area. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
