Bear & Son Cutlery is the focus of this week’s “Business Spotlight” brought to you by AOD Federal Credit union. Bear & Son opened its Jacksonville plant in 1991. And for 20 years, they’ve opened their doors to the public for a three day community appreciation sale the weekend before Thanksgiving. Company President Ken Griffey says the plant makes 300 different skews and turns out about 1,200 pocket knives each day. Griffey says this sale is the company’s way of giving back to the community that has been so good to them over the years. However, he says the event is so popular that it also draws customers from across the country. With kitchen items and thousands of knives at up to 75 percent off, Griffey says it’s a good time to do some holiday shopping. He also says it's a great outing for the entire family. Bear & Son Cutlery is located at 11-11 Bear Boulevard, SW in Jacksonville. The sale runs November 18-20. They’ll open the doors to the public Friday from 7:30am until 6:00pm, Saturday from 7:30 till 5, and Sunday from noon until 5.
