The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is reporting 14 traffic-related deaths during the Thanksgiving travel period. According to state troopers, that’s five more deaths than during the same five-day holiday travel period last year. The deadly accidents occurred in Calhoun and 13 other counties across the state. Troopers say among those killed was a 12-year-old who was riding an ATV without a helmet and five of those killed in car crashes were not using a seat belt. In addition, to the fatal crashes, state troopers investigated 419 traffic accidents, resulting in 204 injuries.
