While many Alabama counties received several inches of rain this week, the state-wide no burn order is still in effect. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin sent out a reminder today that prescribed burns, campfires, trash fires or any other open burns are strictly forbidden. The Sheriff says that Deputies have been responding to no less than 5 fire calls per day. The no-burn order went into effect October 12th. Since that time there have been more than one-hundred fires reported in Etowah county.
