The city of Gadsden dedicated a special fire truck today. Gadsden’s fire department began the process of joining the “Pink Heals” movement a couple of years ago. This pink truck will represent the newly formed Upper Alabama Chapter. A Gadsden fire commander purchased the truck and it’s named after Lana Calvert, the wife of a city firefighter who has battled cancer. The Pink Heals campaign takes the trucks to communities in honor of those battling breast cancer and other types of the disease. People sign the truck in support of the person that it’s named after and others battling cancer. The city of Gadsden also donated a truck to be added to the Upper Alabama Chapter.
