A tense meeting of the Gadsden City Board of Education ended with a vote to give notice to Superintendent Ed Miller that his contract will not be renewed. However, the motion could be rescinded by May if board members complete Miller’s evaluation. According to people at the meeting, four board members approved the motion after three members walked out of the meeting after debate of motions being made, including a motion to adjourn. According to published reports, the board should have completed Miller’s evaluation by September 30.
