Some local middle school students participated in an out-of-this world lesson today. Several students from Rainbow Middle School got the chance to talk with astronauts aboard the international space station. A number of students were selected to ask questions and learn a little about what the astronauts are doing and how they deal with everyday issues. Sixth grader Alaina Gregerson says that she loves learning about space. Principal, Matt Brooks says it was an honor and privilege for the students to experience an event like this. Sixth grader Collins Davis hopes to work for NASA one day. The students only had a 10 minute window to communicate with the astronauts. Students wrote down questions before hand and 19 of those were selected. Principal Brooks also says this was a day many students will never forget.
