Lake Levels to be Raised

Despite the recent rain many of Alabama’s lakes are facing record low levels for this time of year. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is allowing Alabama Power to store water at higher-than-normal levels at Weiss Lake, Logan Martin Lake and Lake Harris. These temporary variances are designed to take advantage of winter and spring rains as well as improve the chances that Alabama Power’s reservoirs can reach full summer pool later this year.
