Police believe a man involved in a standoff with officers at a Rainbow City grocery store- might have wanted officers to shoot and kill him. Rainbow City police received a call about a man with a shotgun in the Publix parking lot this morning. The caller claimed the man had already fired two shots. Police secured the entrances, evacuated the parking lot, and made sure the people inside their cars stayed down and out of sight. After about an hour, officers were able to end the standoff without anyone getting hurt. Rainbow City Police Chief, Jonathon Horton says he is thankful for the help his officers received. Police have identified the man with the gun as Seth Roland. They say the suspect is being evaluated and he could face charges. Roland has no previous criminal records.
