Jacksonville State University will soon break ground on a new building that will offer students a place to have fun. The JSU board of trustees today approved a new recreation center. It will be located next to Kennamer Hall and feature a climbing wall, a three court gym, leisure pool, and much more. JSU says the building could bring close to 200 student jobs. Student Government Association President, Jesslan Sharp says it’s all about looking to the future. The more than 100,000 square foot student center will cost an estimated 39-million dollars and should be ready as early as 2019. It has not yet been determined what will happen to the current JSU recreation center, Stephenson Hall.
