Three Still Facing Death Penalty

The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear a petition by three Alabama death row inmates. Thomas Arthur, Jerry Bohannon and Aubrey Shaw want to challenge the constitutionality of the State’s capital sentencing law. The Court’s denial of the petitions reaffirms that Alabama’s death sentencing law is constitutional. The death penalty law states that a jury must unanimously find an aggravating factor at either the guilt or sentencing phase before determining a death sentence.
